Bathurst Harness Racing Club is one of the state’s largest and most successful harness racing clubs outside of metropolitan Sydney. Bathurst is centrally located within Central West NSW, with Dubbo 2 hours to the west, & Sydney 2.5 hours to the east.
The Bathurst Harness Racing Club was launched as ‘night’ race meeting venue on 14 November 1953, and continues to enjoy a strong harness racing following & participation,
with over 50 race TAB meetings hosted annually.
Bathurst has secured for the 2009/2010 season Level
One status for the 19 meetings to be held between November 2009 &
March 2010. All other meetings remain at level 2 whilst the aim is to
make all meetings Level 1 in the next couple of years.
The Bathurst Gold Crown Carnival is a feature of the harness racing calendar – held annually in late March. It features 6 race meetings & many social events such as Seafood & Chicken Night, Panthers Ball, Ambrose Golf Day & Trivia Night. The 2 year old finals on the last Saturday night of March each offer $A100 000.00 in prize-money.
In 2010, the Gold Crown Carnival shall be held from 17 – 27 March, with the carnival being
